EVO 2017 Tekken 7 And KOF Entrants Count At An All-Time High As Other Titles Dropped
The number of entrants for this year's EVO shows a huge drop in most of the featured games except for Tekken 7 and The King of Fighters who are at their all-time high. This information was posted by SRK stats through the comment thread of EVO CEO Joey Cuellar Twitter update of the final online registration count yesterday.

The final online registration count shows that SFV (2662), SSB Melee (1435), and Smash 4 (1515) entrant count dropped at almost 50% with Guilty Gear and MVC3 also showing more than 10% drop on participants compared to last year's EVO. Entrants for Tekken, on the other hand, has shown a significant rise of more than 50% together with KOF showing a rise in entrants of more than 20%. Injustice 2 is also doing great with more than 800 entrants.

The count was based on the online registration which ended last June 30. Joey Cuellar in a follow-up tweet stated that interested players can still register onsite with cold hard cash.

It has been a great year for Tekken, and KOF which is currently gaining more audience with the launch of its Steam edition.
