The King of Iron Fist Tournament or Tekken
was recently acknowledged by The Guinness World Record Japan office and will become a part of Guinness World Records 2018 edition. Accepting the award was Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada who was working with the series from the very start.
Tekken has been acknowledged and certified as "The Longest-Lasting 3D Fighting Game Series (21 years and 179 days)" and "The Longest Continuing Video Game Story (20 years and 99 days)." The first Tekken version was launched in Japan on January 9, 1994, for the PS One. Over the years the series has become one of the most iconic titles in the fighting game genre with the game's skill-based gameplay and continuing backstories and plots.
