An update for the next entry into the Need For Speed Franchise was recently disclosed thru the game's website in a blog with the title " A letter from Ghost Games." The "letter" contained details of the next installment which is scheduled to be released this year.
It also contained tidbits of information related to the game's features. Customization will still play a strong role in the game and unlike the recent installments (Need for Speed: Rivals and Need For Speed 2015 Reboot) the new Need for Speed will have an offline single player campaign that's completely offline and will have the "pause" option.
"you’re going to want a world that not only looks beautiful, but offers you the space in which to do the things you want. We’re dialing up the action and allowing you to tear up the tarmac, and dirt, to your heart's content," as per Ghost Games.
Which would likely mean that it will also have a bigger open-world map, with probably more options and challenges? The blog also contained an image with June 2nd (see image below) which more likely to be the game's reveal date.
Need for Speed has been one of the most iconic racing franchise in the previous-gen consoles, It has become a household name but it seems that the franchise has taken a wrong turn in the current race and is currently behind the competition. The question of the franchise still has what it takes to keep up with the competition will probably be answered in the coming days.
Stay tuned for more gaming updates.
