For those who are expecting Final Fantasy VII Remake
to launch this year, this news may sound disappointing since there might be a possibility that the long-awaited remake of the epic RPG may be in for another delay. This information was shared by Square Enix's Outline of the financial report which was posted online.
We managed to get a screenshot of the slide that featured the games scheduled to launch in 2017 and those who does not have any launch date yet. The slide was described as
"This slide shows our release lineup for FY2017/3 as well as for FY2018/3 and beyond. We plan to launch each of these upcoming titles in the next three years or so."
The possibility is that Final Fantasy VII Remake may have the same timeline with The Avengers Project which was announced last January this year. It has been almost 12 years since the very first tech-demo of the Final Fantasy Remake was shown in E3 making Square's development of Final Fantasy VII Remake one of the lonSquare'shistory. Check out the 2005 tech-demo below and the trailer for the Avenger project.
