The sequel to one of 2014's psychological horror game The Evil Within will finally make its way to both retail and digital markets this Friday, October 13, 2017. But before the game gets unleashed to the scare-hungry gamers out there, let's take a quick overview of the game created by Shinji Mikami, one of the most iconic personality in the video game industry's horror genre.
The Evil Within 2
continues the exploits of Detective Sebastian Castellanos three years after the events of the first installment, as he ventures deeper into the alternate dimension of STEM. After a couple of years of enduring with suffering brought by the loss of his family and the events of the previous game, Sebastian who is now a broken man was given information that his daughter Lily may actually be alive and is in a time-sensitive situation deep within the STEM. Sebastian will have no choice but to go deeper into the world that almost tore him apart to find the person who could make him whole again, his beloved daughter Lily.
Once you get past the initial shock brought by its dark and horrifying world filled with gore, terror, and violence, The Evil Within 2 like its predecessor will likely drag you into its deep and brilliantly written plot wrapped in a bow of mystery and sprinkled with enough twists that will make you crave for more while being scared at the same time.
To sum up everything, The Evil Within 2 is no doubt bigger, darker, and more horrifying than the first one. The upcoming game has introduced a multitude of new monsters
and human characters
whose backstories are darker than the scariest monster in the game. Being scared while exploring is just the tip of the iceberg, surviving the entire game could be a totally different story. Check out the launch trailer for the game below and stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
