What Critics Think About The Evil Within 2
The much-anticipated sequel to Shinji Mikami's psychological horror game The Evil Within launches today it boasts to be bigger, gorier, and darker than its predecessor. But before everything else, let's take a quick look at what the gaming industry's top critics have to say about the game. 
 
"Coming in at a lengthy and surprisingly packed 15-hour campaign, the sequel does an admirable job of ratcheting up the tension and scares when it needs to, while also giving you the freedom to explore and proceed how you want."- Gamespot review score 8/10
 
The Evil Within 2 based on the current critics and user average is really a big improvement from the previous installment getting an average of 81/100 from 19 critics(as of writing) with a 9.4 user average score from 66 feedbacks, the first installment got an average Metascore of 75/100 from 65 critics and a 7.4 from average from 1315 feedbacks.

The game features a semi-open-world environment populated with both classic and new entities manipulated by a new set of key characters. The 17-chapter game is currently getting accolades for its improved weapon system, exquisite storytelling, and level design. Overall the game creates an atmosphere full of tension and chills with a minimum dose of jump-scare elements. The game is said to be not as scary as Resident Evil 7, but it does present a different type of creepiness due to the fact that it takes place in a simulated environment.
