The Nintendo Switch version of the critically acclaimed racing game for the mobile called Gear.Club Unlimited was finally launched last November 21. The game aims to be the first racing sim for Nintendo's latest console and in relation to this, let's once again take a quick look at what the critics think about this port.
"Gear.Club Unlimited offers up an outstanding racing experience for Switch. It straddles the line nicely between offering up a sim-infused experience while keeping the on-track action fast and exciting." - Hardcore Gamer review score 4/5
Announced in the first week of August, Gear.Club Unlimited promised to offer players with a realistic driving experience featuring licensed cars racing through breathtaking environments. The mobile version of the game has managed to get favorable review score of 80/100. The Switch port, however, is not doing as good as the mobile version with an average Metascore of 67/100 getting 4 out of 18 positive feedback from those who were able to review the game.
"A racing game with a lot of potentials which is comfortable being just a port of a mobile game, instead of a complete experience that takes advantage of Nintendo Switch's potentials. - IGN Spain review score 7/10
Overall, Gear.Club Unlimited is more close to an arcade game than to an actual racing simulation, it does however still offers a great racing experience. The customization feature and graphical presentation are quite decent but one of the great feature of this game is the absence of microtransactions which means that the player can enjoy the full experience in just one solid purchase. The game is rated as average which is considered as a decent score which could be the start of a new generation of racing games for the Nintendo Switch.
