The PSVR port of one of perhaps the best first shooter in gaming Doom has just been launched last December 1, and while the Nintendo Switch port has been getting accolades and positive feedback, the PSVR version is not doing as good in the reviews.
"despite supporting all three of PlayStation VR’s control options, it doesn’t really feel like the title was designed with any of them in mind." Push Square Review Score 6/10
The PSVR version of Doom is having a couple of issues, one of them pertains to the game's nausea-related issues, controller and game's 3-hour campaign length. The VR port of the game is already having issues with the HTC Vive but the PSVR version is said to have been much worse. So bad that Ars Technica has advised its readers to not even bother playing the shooter.
"The PlayStation VR version has problems from top to bottom. Don't even bother." - Ars Technica Doom VFR review
Overall, it might be too early for a game like Doom to have a version for the VR. It's not just the PSVR version that's having an issue but the HTC Vive as well. Critics who were able to review the port did not have a pleasant experience but for those who really want to experience the epic game on VR, the game is currently available which is also said to have been working for the Oculus Rift, as per the article of Road to VR.
