Announced at TGS 2017, details related to Attack On Titan 2 has been in circulation for a while now. The upcoming sequel to 2016's Attack on Titan will feature the plot of the Anime's second season. Not only that, the upcoming game boasts to be "an evolved Attack On Titan," which could be an understatement. This is due to the fact that the development team did more than just "evolve" the game based on the ton of contents and features added into the upcoming sequel.
Compared to the first installment, Attack on Titan 2 will have over 30 playable characters compared to the previous 10, the game will also feature a customizable protagonist together with deadlier and more challenging Titans. The upcoming sequel will also have a feature called "Town Life" which is more like a sanctuary for players in between battles. This feature can be used to access the Titan Research Room, Equipment development area, Training area, Regiment Administration, Scout Missions, and interaction with other characters to "deepen" relationships.
But those are just the added bonus, what makes the upcoming installment really stand-up from the first is its system. The game's Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear is now called omni-directional mobility gear which will allow the character to fly freely around the battlefield. The sequel will also have Bases where the player can replenish his/her resources, another notable addition it the "Buddy Action" which will enable the player to trigger support actions from team members in the field, this together with the Sneak Attack, Hook Drive, Restraining Gun, and the new Titan Detection system makes Attack on Titan 2 more than just an evolved version of the first one, it would be safe to say that this could perhaps be the version gans have been waiting for.
Attack On Titan 2 is very well on its way to becoming a Titan itself compared to the first installment. The development of the sequel is still tasked under the KOEI's 21-year-old Omega Force Studio, the same studio responsible for the epic Dynasty Warriors series, Samurai Warriors, Toukiden, Dragon Quest Heroes and much more. The first installment was positively received by both gamers and critics alike and Omega Force was praised for their almost perfect version of the famous Anime series.
