Playing Homebrew games will soon be possible for the Nintendo Switch, this information was confirmed by a group of hackers named Plutoo, Derrek, and Naehrwert who confirmed that the launcher will soon be available at the 34C3 hacking conference in Germany. The exploit will let Switch owners run emulators and unofficial apps for consoles equipped with firmware 3.0.0. and will not work on the current firmware 4.1.
It was also noted that the group's goal is not to encourage piracy and has even praised Nintendo's security system, but it was also stated that the console is equipped with NVIDIA Tegra X1 chip which is documented to have been exploited by hackers thru a backdoor. Pretty soon Switch owners will be able to install applications and emulators to Nintendo's latest console which could probably reveal some its hidden capabilities.
