Final Fantasy XIV Online's next expansion called Stormblood is going to be unleashed on June 20. The new expansion will feature lots of new content that includes brand-new places to explore and a tweak in the existing battle system.
"existing actions will be reviewed and quality-of-life improvements will be made to all jobs. Last, but not least, we will be replacing additional actions with role actions in order to improve the game's balance,"- Stormblood Battle System description.
With the help of PlayStation Access'hands-on review and the game's official webpage, we managed to compile some of the most notable new features included in the expansion. The first thing that you'll notice is that there a lot of new cities and places to explore. One of this places os the Shirogane residential area which was perfectly designed to match the new expansion. This new expansion will also give the characters the ability swim which will even allow them to explore the ocean floor upon completion of a certain task which was not cited.
Another great thing about this expansion is that it will have full PS4 Pro support which comes in two modes, the first mode will keep the current resolution in exchange for a higher frame rate with the second mode will keep the current frame rate in exchange for a 4K resolution. This expansion will also mark the end of the PS3 support, but there is a free upgrade program that is said to run up until December this year.
The PVP feature of the game is also getting an update which starts with the removal of the level restrictions. Inventory and armory spaces were also expanded together with 200 items for the cottages, 300 for the houses and 400 items for the mansions.
