Dragon Ball FighterZ has become the most-played fighting game in Steam's history with more than 44.3K active players at launch as per IGN, this number, however, had eventually dropped by 80% just before reaching its second week in Steam. Tekken 7, on the other hand, suffered the same losses, however, it took 2 months for the game to lose the same percentage of players.
Dragon Ball FighterZ has been positively received by the gaming community and has performed well in terms of sales. The decline of PC players does not mean that the game is losing popularity, one possibility for this decline is that players feel more comfortable playing on consoles, which is usually the standard equipment used in competitive gaming. Dragon Ball FighterZ still has over 9K players last weekend and more than 2.8K players as of writing. Check out the launch trailer for the game below and stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
