"You get what you paid for, plus we are always trying out best to overdeliver," that's a statement coming from CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwiński in a recent conversation with PC Gamer related to lootboxes and their upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projeckt Red is known for The Witcher 3, the critically acclaimed multi-awarded single player RPG. The company's new project called Cyberpunk 2077 has been teased for a while now, though the upcoming game will include online elements to ensure its long-term success, lootboxes won't be a part of it.

The upcoming game, however, will possibly have additional paid content in the form of expansions which according to Iwiński will contain a meaningful piece of content that will deliver many hours of gameplay. DLC's on the other hand, is defined by him as small pieces of contents that should be available for free. Transparency was also discussed by the co-founder that information about the game should be provided with utmost clarity so that players can make "well-informed decisions with their money." Furthermore, he states that the company will not be abandoning the Witcher franchise and it has been a big part of the company. Cyberpunk 2077 is speculated to launch in late 2018 or early 2019.
