Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition was officially launched last week through Steam, Microsoft Store, and Origin. Square Enix has been very generous in terms of features and contents with this version together with its console counterpart called the Royal Edition. But before you get your copy of the game, let's take a quick look at what some of the industry's critics have to say about this edition based on their experience.
It’s by no means the best Final Fantasy game there’s ever been, especially once it forces you to bid farewell to your easy-going road trip and sit on a literal train for the rest of the story, - Rock Paper Shotgun
Aside from the Season Pass, DLC items, Holiday/Booster Packs, new maps and other digital contents, Windows Edition supports native 4K-8K and HDR 10 running at 120 FPS. This edition is currently has a "very positive" rating on Steam and has an average Metascore of 87/100 from 7 critics.
"Featuring all the charms of the console version, plus the DLC, customisable graphics and improved frame rates, Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition is the best version of Square Enix’s latest epic that money can buy." - Trusted Reviews 4/5
Though this version is hands down the best when it comes to graphics and resolution, it is not without flaws. The game's mouse and keyboard controls, for example, does not follow the traditional PC controls and it requires a lot of Storage Space and power in order to get the 4K on 120 FPS experience. Other than that, the game the best version of the game that money can buy, as per Trusted Reviews.
