IOI CEO Hakan Abrak declared independence for their studio in a message posted on the company's website. The studio has been in the market for quite some time now but it seems that Square Enix has agreed to do a management buyout and letting IOI keep the right to Hitman's IP.
"I am proud to announce today that IOI is now officially an independent studio. We have successfully concluded our negotiations with Square Enix and have agreed to a management buyout. Crucially, we will keep all of the rights to the Hitman IP." - Harak Abrak IOI CEO.
The message contained words of appreciation directed to Hitman's fanbase and to its former mother company Square Enix. This means that IOI can now do whatever they want in relation to the future of the Hitman franchise. It also states that the studio will now return to its roots together with the studio's veteran team of developers.
The first Hitman title was launched in 2000 with the title Hitman: Codename 47 for the PC. Check out the video below which contains all the trailers of the Epic franchise and stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
