Developments regarding the much anticipated cross-platform online play everyone has been waiting for as Capcom enters a cross-licensing agreement with Bandai Namco. This will greatly improve online play across all platforms.
This agreement could mean that Bandai Namco will be able to use the new and much stable CFN for online matches, which brings us to Sony who attempted to block the efforts for a cross-platform play stating that
“We have a contract with the people who go online with us, that we look after them and they are within the PlayStation curated universe," as per Jim Ryan PlayStation global sales and marketing head In an interview with Eurogamer last June 13, 2017.
This is good news for all platforms which will serve as the first step in a unified gaming community and industry. But this is not over yet, Sony is open to talks with other developer/ publisher about the matter and maybe over time one of the biggest name in gaming will finally give in. What do you think?
