After its community reveal, Treyarch has been busy explaining to its community the reason for the absence of a single player campaign for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4, in fact, the studio states that it was not part of their plan since the very beginning, based on their recent interview with Eurogamer. The studio also maintains their stand that the popularity of single player campaigns in Call of Duty are declining thus their decision to focus on multiplayer and Battle Royale instead.
Video game enthusiast YongYea, on the other hand, created a video that disproves the claim of the studio by gathering the statistics of both PlayStation 4 and PC Players who played the single player mode of the latest Call of Duty title. Based on his stats. it is clear that there are still a lot of players who play single player campaigns versus those who only play multiplayer modes. His video shows that these players still count as a large part of the Call of Duty community and that the studio should at least be honest to its players in terms of this things.
