Making its World Premiere in last year's The Game Awards, the recently revealed Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice could probably become the current generation's version of Dark Souls. The upcoming game's E3 trailer provides a quick overview of the game's gameplay mechanics including some of the bosses who bears resemblance to the towering entities featured in Dark Souls. What makes this game unique from the studio's previous games is various methods of exploration the character Sekiro can perform. Unlike the chosen undead protagonist of Dark Souls, Sekiro is described as a solitary ninja who's bounded by code and is still among the living during the closing years of the Sengoku period.
As a ninja, Sekiro can traverse rooftops using his ninja skills and gadgets. The video also shows some stealth gameplay which could be one of the various ways the player can approach or tackle a certain objective. Though the character may look like he has literally a lot of gadgets and skills, the last thing anyone can do is underestimate the title. Knowing that this game is developed by the same studio who created some of the most challenging games in the previous gen, is already a slight warning telling the player to prepare to die again.
