What Critics Are Saying About Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy Switch Version

One of last year's best-selling PS4 exclusive built-from-scratch remake Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy arrives on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC today two weeks ahead of schedule. Highly acclaimed by both players and critics on the PlayStation 4, the game was considered a huge success which could have influenced the Spyro Reignited Trilogy Remake. As usual, let's take a peek at what some of the gaming industry's critics and players have to say about the Switch version of the game since both the Xbox One and PC version has yet to have enough review submissions.

"Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy was one of the best remakes available on the PS4 and it earns that honor once again on Nintendo Switch." 4.5/5

Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy just like most games ported to the Switch, has an advantage over portability. However, this advantage requires an ample sacrifice in the aesthetic department. The game as of writing has managed to get a Metascore of 74 made up of 3 positive and 3 mixed reactions from critics. Pointing out the game's reduced resolution and effects together with the dated release as its main weaknesses.

"The culprit behind Crash's dated feel is the passage of time. Vicarious Visions, for its part, succeeded in revitalizing Crash from an artistic perspective while preserving the charm that made him appealing when he first showed up, but years have passed since the original PlayStation was relevant, and we are well past the formative years of 3D gaming" - Gamespot 6/10

Overall, the success of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy on the PlayStation 4 has already spent all the hype for the game. Playing the game with a lower resolution and effects also gives the game that "dated" feel. Nevertheless, for the hardcore fans of the game, having three versions of their beloved character on the go nullifies its flaws.
