Known as one of the biggest fighting game events on the planet, EVO or the Evolution Championship Series has been the battleground for some of the best and the most high-profile Esports specialists in the entire FGC. In relation to that, we will take a quick look at one of the newest and perhaps the most significant Tekken 7 challenger in this year's event.
Competing under the Gamertag Godfather Harada_Tekken is none other than Tekken 7 director Katsuhiro Harada who seems to have lived up to his April Fools tweet announcing him as the first Bandai Namco certified professional gamer. Despite him having been known for his sense of humor, Harada gas brought with him his A-Game which unfortunately was not enough to get through the first day.
Over the years Tekken has evolved to become one of the most sought out fighting game in the FGC. Aside from its impressive presentation and skill-based gameplay, a big part of the game's success can be credited to the strong bond between the developers and the community. Watching the iconic director having fun competing and eventually losing with the community is a sight rarely seen in gaming, which could also be the reason why Tekken 7 is the only game in EVO 2018's line-up to grow its number of participants. Check out Harada's winning moment below and stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
