Japan brings home one of the first-ever Asian Games Esports gold medal after dominating PES 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia earlier today. Facing Iran's Hassan Pajani (Gamertag Hasan＿Pes)`and Reza Nobakhtsarkandi (Gamertag PunisherNB) during the finals, the victory of Japan's two-man team made up of Sugimura Naoki (Gamertag Sofia) and Aihara Tsubasa (Gamertag Leva) was an uphill battle after losing the first out of the three matches during the Grand Finals. Though the pair managed to win the rest of the round, it's also worth noting that the skills showed by Iran makes them one of the top contenders in the upcoming 2022 Asian Games in China where Esports will debut as a medal event.
The rest of the Gold Medals went to Hong Kong for Hearthstone, Indonesia for Clash Royale, South Korea for StarCraft II, and China for League of Legends/Arena of Valor. Stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
