"It feels like a real sequel to SoulCalibur 2, in a way that none of the others managed. It’s an immediately fun fighting game that has clear depth but never seems intimidating." Trusted Reviews 4.5/5

Soulcalibur VI based on the first batch of review scores currently has a Metascore average of 84/100 made up of 25 positive and 2 mixed reactions from 27 critics. According to Trusted Reviews, the limited tutorial features of Soulcalibur VI has been its one and the only flaw, the rest of the features are perfect.

"Despite some minor issues, the soul of Soulcalibur 6 is so strong that they don’t do much to bring down what is one of the best entries in the series." IGN 8.9/10

"This is a larger than life series that deserves a lot of love and care from its creator: and with VI, it got it." Destructoid

By comparison, Soulcalibur VI's 8.9/10 score is still way behind Tekken 7's 9.5/10, Destructoid, on the other hand, scored Soulcalibur VI a decent 8.5/10 against Tekken 7's 8.0/10.
