By stretching across the various media platforms in the entertainment industry, Final Fantasy XV
has evolved to become the most expansive entry to Square's iconic RPG series. Since its debut, the game has managed to ship more than 8 million copies and has managed to collaborate with some of the biggest games and real-world companies. This smooth sailing progression, however, has just hit a major bump in the road as Hajime Tabata leaves Square Enix.
This bump according to sources has led to the cancellation of three of the four DLC episodes planned for the title (Aranea, Lunafreye, and Noctis), Episode Ardyn on the other hand, is still in development and is expected to go live on March 2019. This occurrence was said to have cost Square Enix a whopping 33 million in losses.
As you may already know, Final Fantasy XV is built on the premise that aims to develop an interconnection of both virtual and real-world. Examples of which is the integration of a famous food brand into the game and the production of a real-life version of the Star of Lucis by one of the most prestigious car maker on the planet.
"A king pushes onward always, accepting the consequences and never looking back." - Regis Lucis Caelum
Speaking of correlation, Final Fantasy XV is now without a king and its kingdom is now Peril. Let's just hope that just like the Kingdom of Lucis, a real-life Prince Noctis will come to its rescue before the damage becomes unbearable.
