Ever since its big reveal, the next entry to the iconic Mortal Kombat franchise Mortal Kombat 11
has hyped up the entire FGC. With each episode of Kombat Kast revealing something new to the anticipating community. To keep the hype going, NetherRealm's VP Shaun Himmerick shared some juicy details about the changes in the game's fighting mechanics and post-launch contents. WCCfTech managed to capture some of the mentioned details from The Official Xbox Magazine.
"Yes, there will be a Krypt! You can expect it to be fun. I don’t want to oversell it, for sure, but I think it’ll be a nice surprise to the players when they see the direction the Krypt has taken in this game"
One of the features teased by the NetherRealm executive is what could be a new version of The Krypt. For those who are unfamiliar with this feature, The Krypt is like a treasure trove full of unlockable gears, costumes, and other in-game items. This special feature features hundreds of chests and requires Koins to unlock. He also added that "the features planned to be added to the game even in the first couple months are pretty awesome" and that "there is more coming."
"The big changes we made to the core fighting mechanics for MK11 were separating the players’ meter and having Fatal Blows not require meter."
In terms of fighting mechanics, Shaun explains that the separation of meters and the meterless Fatal Blow execution are two of the biggest changes in the game's core fighting mechanics. Unlike the previous installments, players will now have separate meters for both offensive and defensive attacks. Fatal Blows, on the other hand, will no longer require meters. However, Fatal Blows can only be executed when the player's HP falls below 30%, in addition to that, this type of attack can only be used once per match.
Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to launch on April 23, 2019. Check out the latest trailer for the game below and stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
