With just three more days remaining before NetherRealm's highly anticipated fighting game Mortal Kombat 11
hits the gaming populace, the studio is also busy unveiling some sweet details pertaining to the development of the game. Part of today's highlights focuses on four of the most visually awesome and memorable characters in the game as shared by Brendan George Lead Character Artist from NetherRealm Studios.
"Ned Kelly's Armor"
First off is Erron Black who received a special skin design inspired by the iconic Australian bushranger, outlaw and gang leader named Ned Kelly. Erron's outfit on the image shown above is based on the outlaw's iconic bulletproof armor utilized during shootouts.
Next is Shao Kahn who according to the artist is based on a previous version of the character. The image above depicts the costume worn by the conqueror during battles. This includes his weapons and overall gear design.
Raiden the God of thunder, on the other hand, got a Mortal Kombat 2-inspired costume. What makes his costume unique is the integration of Mortal Kombat 11's color schemes along with the new silk material exclusive to MK11.
Cetrion's design is based on the "dark side of Mother Earth." The image shown above shows a dark tone that was said to represent the destructive power of mother but not to the point as being seen as evil in nature. This is only part of Cetrion's multiple costumes. Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to launch on April 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
