Announced in 2017 through an E3 teaser trailer, A Plague Tale: Innocence
is a poetic atmospheric horror game
set in 14th Century France. The game follows two siblings in their quest to survive one of the harshest environments ever to envelop the dark ages. Part of what makes this game unique is that it requires the use of crafting, sneaking, alchemy, and environment interaction in order to either evade or overcome each scenario.
A Plague Tale: Innocence is not a game that features magical or happy-ever-after types of characters and settings. It is, in fact, a dark game that involves swarms of flesh-consuming rats and unforgiving villains out to get our two protagonists. In this game, the balance between darkness and light is of utmost importance. Too much light and the pursuing Inquisition will spot your location, all the while hiding in darkness will make you vulnerable to the swarming rats that lurk behind the shadows.
A Plague Tale: Innocence is a game not recommended for squeamish players. With that said, this is the perfect game for stealth and horror fans alike. This unique combination of elements will definitely test your wits and strategy in dire situations. Even better is that it features a mysterious and intriguing narrative to keep the player engage for hours on end. A Plague Tale: Innocence is scheduled to launch on May 14, 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
