What Critics Are Saying About RAGE 2
Bethesda's highly anticipated open-world FPS is finally out in the open. RAGE 2 is a post-apocalyptic sequel to the 2010 game of the same title developed by two of the best studios in the open world (Avalanche) and FPS (id) genre of games. This collaboration of studios has led to the hype displayed by the gaming populace ever since its reveal. With that said, let us take a quick overview of what some of the gaming industry's top critics have to say about the game.
"I was pleasantly surprised with the shooter chimera that is Rage 2, which ended up being open world mini-Doom 2016. It's not going to make anyone a believer in shooters or the free roam format, but folks already predisposed to those vices will find plenty to sink their teeth into." Destructoid 8/10
RAGE 2 currently has an average review score which is considered as "Fair" in Open Critic. This insane open-world mayhem is getting accolades for its shooting mechanics and combat. On the negative side, most critics find the game as boring, grindy, and having a very short campaign. Not to mention the game's "dull" open world.
"Despite technical hiccups and design choices that slow down the action, Rage 2 still manages to make you feel like a postapocalyptic superhero." Digital Trends 6.5/10
RAGE 2 just like some AAA titles launched with noticeable flaws, part of which is the open word which is less detailed as expected including a very short campaign mission. In addition to that are technical issues seen in the cutscenes of the game. Most of the issues can be fixed with a patch. What makes RAGE 2 fun is the combat structure embedded within its core, which most critics agree to be "extremely fulfilling." To that end RAGE 2 is still a solid title that could easily improve over time. Check out the launch trailer for the game below and stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
