Despite the various issues during its first week of launch, NetherRealm's latest entry to the Mortal Kombat series- Mortal Kombat 11
is doing impressively well in terms of sales. In fact, the game currently sits on the third spot of SuperData's May 2019 Top Grossing Digital Games Sales Chart for consoles,
trailing behind two heavily-monetized titles; Fortnite
on number and FIFA '19
on number 2. With the development team's swift and generous resolution to the issues brought up by the community, it is fair to say that the game will not only become the best in the series (which it already is) but could set a new sales record for the company in the future.
Moving forward, Fortnite
, despite being on top of the list is still experiencing a dramatic decline in revenue. The same Superdata report states that the game is down by 38% from May 2018. PUBG
, on the other hand, managed to sell over 4.7 million digital copies across PC and consoles, allowing it to retain its position as one of the best-selling shooters across all platforms. Stay tuned for more gaming news and updates.
