EVO 2019 is fast approaching and as the number of entrants piles up, the prizes for the main tournaments are also getting sweeter. One example is the recently launched
Samurai Shodown, which, after achieving
critical acclaim and
impressive sales, is now gaining traction in eSports. In fact, the weapon-based reboot has dramatically climbed from the seventh up to the fourth spot in EVO 2019's entrants' leaderboard surpassing MK11 in the process.

In line with this achievement, SNK has partnered up with Athlon Games to add 30,000 USD to the prize pool. Aside from that, top players will also receive a NEOGEO mini Samurai Spirits limited set, SAMURAI SPIRITS-Hazuki Poisoned Sukajan, and Saji Arihito signed Illustrations (see image above).
