The Capcom Pro Tour details have recently been announced through their official web page which came with a trailer overview of what to expect on this year's tour. Below is the summary of some of the changes that will take place this year.
The organizers of the prestigious Capcom Pro Tour has made some changes in their qualification process. Qualifying for Capcom Cup will now be based entirely on three things which are: a) the previous year's champ will get to defend his title, b) winning the Capcom Cup 2017 Last Chance Qualifier, and c)Become part of the Capcom Pro Tour Global Leaderboards Top 30.
Winning a premier event will now reward the player with a "tremendous amounts of points" since the auto-qualification will be abolished. However, Regional finals will still grant an auto-qualification spot for the Capcom Cup, "If the player who wins is still not in the Top 30 of the Global Leaderboards after the 400-point boost, the qualified list of players from the Global Leaderboards will be reduced by one, moving the bottom player out of contention." EVO will have a $50,000 prize pool, Regional Finals will have a guaranteed $30,000 prize pool and the top 256 players will be awarded CPT points.
